Pierre Étoile welcomed a dozen prospective buyers to an exclusive advance presentation of the “Domaine du Parc” project at the offices of Foncia Geco Berneuse in Leysin yesterday.
Close to the centre of Leysin at an altitude of 1290 m, the “Domaine du Parc” development comprises 4 chalets, each containing 10 apartments. Built in the traditional local style, 2 chalets are already completed, and the other two will be finished shortly.

As part of their focus on the people who will live in its real estate developments, Pierre Etoile SA has gifted two former industrial spaces to the town of Vevey. The two buildings, located between the “Jardins Coeur de Ville” development and the future Nestlé Centre, were home to the Nestlé jam bottling plant between 1888 and 1948.
They were due to be demolished, but Pierre Etoile SA saw the opportunity to help the local authorities find a new home for two important local organisations, the Théâtre des Trois-Quarts and the Cadratin typography workshop and print archive.
The 500m2 buildings will be renovated to re-open in 2016. Pierre Etoile SA and Nestlé have committed another CHF 1 million to the renovation of the buildings and a foundation, “Les Nouveaux Bosquets”, has been set up to raise the additional CHF 2 million required for the renovation project.

The “Jardins Cœur de Ville” real estate development was launched at Vevey this afternoon. The first stone was laid in an opening ceremony this afternoon, witnessed by a selection of local dignitaries. Following the demolition of the old 40 m grain silo at the end of January, the groundworks were completed on time and on budget, and the construction of the underground car parks and the first buildings can now begin.
The first apartments will be ready for occupation early next year, with the other 5 buildings completed in autumn 2015. At this point 90 of the 122 apartments have already been sold, to the delight of developer Pierre Etoile SA.
In addition to the apartments, the project also includes the creation of a green space with pedestrian access from all sides. The space will be full of trees, a reminder of the orchards which gave the area its original French name of “Les Bosquets”.

Work on the “Jardins Cœur de Ville” real estate development will begin by mid-February. The CHF 80 million project will create 122 apartments in 5 buildings just behind Vevey railway station. Developer Pierre Etoile SA will transform the whole site, a former industrial area that had fallen into disuse and neglect.
The last task before beginning groundworks and construction of the underground car parks and the first buildings? The demolition of the 40 m grain silo. The only machine of its kind in Switzerland will be used to take the silo apart piece by piece, to minimise disruption and impact on neighbouring buildings and road and rail traffic. The whole operation will take 10 days, during which the 46 m boom and 4 ton grab of the high reach demolition machine will steadily reduce the silo to rubble.
